Thanks to YOU, we met our year-end goal! We are incredibly grateful to the countless Venice community members and network of supporters who donated their time, money, and energy this year toward helping us reach our Phase 1 Goal: Raising $115,000 to help restore our original Pacific Electric Red Car trolley and bring it home to Centennial Park! The growing success of this grassroots campaign is thanks to YOU. In combination with our tireless volunteer team, we are on our way towards bringing a much-needed museum to life that will honor and celebrate Venice's diverse cultural heritage.
Stay tuned for more updates on the project in the new year. Until then, cheers to us and cheers to VENICE! p.s. here's a little recap video we made to say thank you & honor how far we've come in 2021!

We're almost there! Help us close the gap.
We're thrilled to announce that with your support, we've raised 92% of our $115K goal this year to help launch the Venice Heritage Museum project! Thanks to our community-led, grassroots fundraising efforts, we have raised $106K+ towards building Venice's first-ever museum. Will you help us close the gap and reach $115,000 by year's end? Check out the following opportunities to support! We're so close.
Let's do this, Venetians! We're so close. We're pleased to share that the Museum team was recently invited to meet with the Superintendent of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks, whose department manages Centennial Park where we are proposing to install the Venice Heritage Museum.
With the support of our local Council District 11 planning staff, our Board President and Treasurer shared the most up-to-date vision for installing the Museum campus at Centennial Park, as well as the tremendous progress we've made in our fundraising and outreach efforts over the past year ($95K thus far!). At that meeting, we were invited by the Superintendent to submit an updated formal proposal to partner with the City to bring the Museum to life at this underutilized, high potential park site. We submitted the updated proposal two weeks ago in mid-November and are now awaiting feedback from the Dept. of Recreation & Parks. We look forward to sharing more with you when we hear about next steps! |
